MARIKA DAVIS
About Me
Hello!
I'm Marika Davis, a Senior immersed in the world of Strategic Communications at Kansas State University (Go Cats!). My academic journey includes a minor in Marketing and Leadership Studies, along with a certificate in the Business of Sports and Entertainment.
At K-State, I proudly serve as the In-Stadium Fan Experience Host for K-State Athletics, allowing me to indulge in my passion for public speaking and connecting with new faces while sharing my love for K-State! Another experience in the sports industry that I am proud of is my work in creating K-State’s first ‘Women in Sports’ club. As the co-founder and Vice President of the Sports Girls Club, I take pride in fostering an inclusive space where female voices in the sports industry can thrive. Through strategic initiatives and collaborative events, we empower women to break barriers, cultivate professional networks, and inspire the next generation of leaders in the dynamic world of sports. Finally, as an underclassman, I spent time with the K-State Volleyball team serving as a Communications Intern.
In addition to my role in athletics, I currently hold the position of Vice President of K-State’s PRSSA club, the Director of Lifelong Commitment for Pi Beta Phi, my sorority, and a member of the K-State Student Alumni Board. In this capacity, I channel my enthusiasm into planning and executing philanthropic events, curating engaging social media content, and fostering communication through newsletters and pen pal systems with our stakeholders.
From my early days participating in lacrosse, volleyball, dance, choir, theatre, student council, and broadcasting, I've always been a 'Chatty Cathy' at heart. This innate love for community involvement has fueled my passion for Public Relations, where I aspire to be the bridge between a brand and its community. As a Public Relations enthusiast, I thrive on crafting innovative strategies to showcase the uniqueness of my 'client' in the best light possible.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I find joy in reading, hiking, and belting out tunes – even if I'm not a professional singer, there's something special about karaoke nights with friends. A fun tidbit about me is that I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Orvieto, Italy, during the summer of 2022. For two months I explored Italy while immersing myself in courses on Digital Storytelling, Photography, and Italian Culture.
Described by my peers as strategic, collaborative, and a true people person, I am eagerly anticipating the chance to dive into the dynamic world of Public Relations and Marketing. Let's create connections, tell compelling stories, and make a lasting impact together!
